How to Cancel JetBlue Flight ticket Online or Offline, Cancellation Policy, Fee

What Is JetBlue Flight Cancellation Policy?

JetBlue offers flexibility in canceling flight tickets. No matter what type of fare you book, you can cancel within 24 hours and receive a full refund. If a cancellation occurs after 24 hours, a fee based on the fare class will apply.

JetBlue Ticket Cancellation Rules

Passengers can easily cancel a flight with the help of JetBlue Cancellation Policy without any hassle and get a full refund. Before requesting a cancellation, passengers must be aware of the cancellation policies.

JetBlue Cancellation Policy highlights and considerations:

·         JetBlue basic tickets are non-refundable, and a $200 cancellation fee applies if you cancel within Mexico, the USA, the Caribbean, or Central America.

·         If the cancellation is requested over the phone, the passenger will be charged a non-refundable fee of $25.

·         A JetBlue cancellation refund will be credited as a travel credit if the non-refundable ticket was purchased with a JetBlue credit card.

·         JetBlue Travel Bank will receive all refunds on non-refundable tickets. JetBlue Cancellation Policy allows travel credit deposits for newly issued tickets.

·         Reward members who cancel non-refundable fares will pay a cancellation fee and receive a credit on their account. For Mosaic members, all cancellation charges will be waived for same-day cancellations.

·         If the ticket is canceled before departure, a refund will be provided, but JetBlue charges a cancellation fee. Passengers will not be eligible for a refund if they do not cancel their tickets before departure.

The reservation value will be converted into travel credit, which can be used in the future.

·         On all government and military tickets, the unused portion of the ticket can be refunded. There may also be cancellation charges.

·         If you fail to show up, the entire ticket value will be forfeited, and no refund will be provided.

JetBlue Same-day switch & standby

JetBlue Same-day switch

For Blue, Blue Plus, and Mint fares, JetBlue customers may make a confirmed same-day switch for $75 (no fare difference applies). Neither same-day switches nor same-day standby are available for Blue Basic fares booked on or after Mar 18, 2024.

Same-day switches are available on Blue Basic fares booked before Mar 18, 2024, for $75.  Starting 24 hours before departure, Mosaic members can make free same-day changes to all fares (including Blue Basic) without paying a fare difference.

The same-day switch can only be made at midnight in your departing flight time zone on the day of travel.

It is possible to switch to the same airport on the same day, or to a nearby airport if it is approved.

Only cities with multiple flights per day offer the same-day switch option.

JetBlue Standby

Depending on your fare, standby travel is subject to an additional $75 fee (there is no fare difference). Standby travel is based on seat availability and is not guaranteed. Blue Basic members cannot standby, except for Mosaic members.

JetBlue requires that you have already purchased a seat to travel on standby. Any sold-out flight between the same cities on the same calendar day as your confirmed departure may be listed as standby.

Standby details

·         There is a $75 charge to list standby for Blue, Blue Plus, and Mint fares. If your standby flight is not confirmed, this fee will be refunded

·         Blue Extra fares are not subject to the $75 fee.

·         Same-day standby is not available for Blue Basic reservations.

·         At the airport, you may list standby before your original flight. Online or over the phone, standby travel cannot be booked.

·         As long as the origin and destination cities remain the same, you can be confirmed on a nonstop flight and travel standby on a connecting flight.

·         Traveling on standby with an Even More® Space seat or a Core (preferred) seat will result in the forfeiture of the seat fee.

·         Standby passengers in cities with multiple flights may only travel on the same day. Customers departing from cities with one flight a day cannot book standby.

·         Mint® customers can choose to travel on standby, but seats are not guaranteed. If a core seat is assigned, no refund of the $75 Mint experience will be given.

·         One person per reservation must be at the airport to list for standby. To check-in, each individual must be present.

·         For mosaic customers and customers with refundable fares, there is no fee for listing standby.
